United Brain Tumour Campaign - Objectives


The UBTC is a group of UK Brain Tumour Charities working together with patients, carers, professionals, families and friends, and to raise public awareness. Our objectives are:




  • Raise Public Awareness through

    • Local Media
    • National Media
    • Enlisting the support of local MP's and MSP's
    • UK wide awareness weeks
    • Organising events
    • Educating professionals: GP's, Opticians, teachers etc

  • Attract Funds

    • Locally for individual charities specific objectives
    • Community events
    • Donations
    • Grants and trustfunds
    • Increasing governments spend through combined lobbying
    • Collaborating for corporate support
    • Joint country wide and regional events
    • Sharing ideas and learnings

  • Establish Support Groups

    • Paediatric, teenage and young adult, adult s
    • Draw up plans to ensure a support group is available at each of the 22 treatment centres across the UK

  • Facilitate consistent information flows

    • Website and links
    • Information leaflets covering all aspects
    • Collaborate with data experts for up to date statistics
    • Central register of support groups
    • Publish research and clinical trials status and results
    • Identify treatment and surgical options

  • Distribute our individual funds effectively

    • Develop guidlines
    • Produce consistent forms for financial assistance
    • Draw up plans to provide assistance nationally initially at least available at each and every treatment centre
